On June 1, K.P. Events Group provided production support to the “Hope In Motion” fundraising event held in Columbus Park, located in Stamford, CT. The 19th annual fundraising event benefits Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center and by all accounts was an enormous success.

The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital has provided the highest level of cancer care in southwestern Connecticut for the past twenty years. “Hope In Motion” is their main fundraising event. This was the fourth consecutive year that K.P. Events Group played a major production role in this important and heartfelt endeavor.

Over 1500 runners participated in a 5K or optional 10K run. Four thousand patients, friends, family and supporters also participated in the event’s 3-mile Walk. The walkers showed their eagerness, passion and humor for the event by grouping into teams with nicknames such as “The Scalpels” and “The Medulloblasters.”

The gathering of several dozen cancer survivors highlighted the day, a reminder that cancer can indeed be beaten. The large group posed for a photo in front of the cheering throngs of people who took over downtown Stamford for the morning.

K.P. Events Group provided the multi-media experience that included a 12’x16’ video wall with a live video feed from a 30’ jib arm that scanned the jubilant crowd. K.P. also provided the large presentation stage, audio system, photography and drone video services.

As of that Sunday morning, the event had raised $764,000 of its $1 million goal. The fundraising continues online until September 30. Last year’s event raised $980,000.
Radiation Oncologist and Medical Director of the Bennett Cancer Center, Frank Masino, explained why this particular fundraiser was so significant and beneficial.

“It all goes to the program … there are no administrative costs. That’s a wonderful thing!”

K.P. Events Group has a long-standing relationship with the Stamford Hospital organization and has provided technical support to several of the organization’s fundraising events that they hold throughout the year.
“Hope In Motion” was held on National Cancer Survivors Day and was presented by Stamford Hospital Foundation, the fundraising division of Stamford Hospital.
