K.P. Events Group has always been dedicated to supporting projects that have a social and charitable conscience
This past week’s special event was a prime example of such sentiments. This Monday, July 24th, we worked the T.J. Martell Foundation’s Annual New York Golf Classic at the beautiful Hudson National Golf Course, located in Croton-On-The-Hudson. The event was a fundraiser to benefit medical research and boasted Darius Rucker as the featured performer.
The T.J. Martell Foundation is the music industry’s largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS. The Foundation sources and supports early-stage research projects aimed at developing more effective clinical treatments for patients which otherwise, might not be funded.
The golf outing raised over $100,000 for medical research through personal and corporate contributions, tournament sponsorships and a silent auction of sports memorabilia. The 25 foursomes enjoyed a beautiful, warm day on the links and relaxed at a bountiful cocktail/hors d’oevres reception before enjoying Mr. Rucker’s performance. Traditionally, this has been one of the most profitable and successful fundraising events put on by the T.J. Martell Foundation and it showed by the genuine enthusiasm in the room.
K.P. Events Group provided front of house audio solutions for the acoustic performance by Mr. Rucker, who led the crowd of one hundred-plus in renditions of his musical hits such as “Alright” and “Wagon Wheel.” The appreciative crowd gave Mr. Rucker a raucous round of applause and left the event humming tunes that have made the Grammy Award winner a successful artist for the past two decades.
It’s this type of event that makes K.P. Events Group most proud. It brings out the best in people in supporting a cause that may, ultimately, benefit everyone involved. Medical diseases affect everyone in one way or another and raising funds for research to find a cure is the best way to show the care of mankind for their fellow man.
